Our journey began on December 12, 2003, when Edgar “Injap” Sia II founded the first Mang Inasal in Iloilo City. Inspired by the Hiligaynon term for “Mr. Barbecue,” we became a household name with our iconic Chicken Inasal and set a new standard by offering unlimited rice — an industry first that made us stand out from competitors.
As we rapidly expanded, Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) saw our potential and acquired 70% of Mang Inasal in 2010 for ₱3 billion. By 2016, JFC completed the acquisition, buying the remaining 30% for ₱2 billion, making Mang Inasal a fully owned subsidiary of JFC.
